The gums, ligaments, and bone around the teeth form the foundation for your teeth. When this foundation isn’t healthy, it jeopardizes everything above it. At 3V Dental, we offer non-surgical gum treatments for patients in the early to moderate stages of gum disease — using deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) and targeted antibiotic therapy to restore gum health without surgery.

Deep cleaning removes bacteria from below the gumline, allowing healthy gum tissue to reattach to the tooth.
Treating gum disease early is the most effective way to prevent the bone and tooth loss that comes with advanced periodontitis.
Non-surgical treatment is effective for most early-to-moderate cases, avoiding the need for more invasive procedures.
Treating gum disease reduces inflammation linked to heart disease, diabetes, and other systemic conditions.

We measure pocket depths, assess bone levels on X-rays, and evaluate the severity of gum disease.
A thorough deep cleaning removes plaque and tartar from below the gumline and smooths root surfaces.
Local antibiotic agents are placed in affected pockets to eliminate remaining bacteria.
More frequent cleaning visits (every 3–4 months) help maintain gum health and prevent recurrence.
Signs of gum disease (periodontitis) include: gums that are red and bleed easily, persistent bad breath, gums that are pulled away from the tooth, loose teeth, and changes in the position or bite of the teeth. Any of these signs may mean something is wrong. With the proper care, it may be possible to return them to a healthy state.
Unfortunately, periodontal disease may have already reached an advanced stage by the time you begin to notice symptoms — which is why regular checkups are essential for early detection.
Treatment usually involves a deep cleaning or root planing done under a local anesthetic, along with local antibiotic agents. This is far less invasive than gum surgery and is effective in the majority of early-to-moderate cases.
Many people who experience tooth or gum discomfort avoid the dentist out of fear they’ll need surgery. Fortunately, for early-stage gum disease, non-surgical treatments are highly effective — and the sooner you come in, the more conservative the treatment needed.
