The Zoom! procedure begins with a short preparation to isolate your lips and gums. Your clinician then applies the proprietary Zoom! whitening gel, which is activated by the specially designed light. Three 15-minute rounds of gel and light application progressively whiten your teeth. Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter. A fluoride treatment completes the procedure.
3V Dental also offers the tray method — custom-fitted vinyl trays worn at home with a carbamide peroxide gel. The tray method takes 3–4 weeks of daily use but is a good option for stubborn staining like tetracycline.
According to the Journal of the American Dental Association, in-office whitening uses a stronger peroxide concentration than at-home solutions and may produce whiter teeth in a single session.
